Collaboration vs Idealism vs Not Giving A F*@%

Ep15 of 24. We discuss building a collaborative community vs. leadership of an idealistic visionary vs. not giving a F*@% about other people’s opinions. How can you balance working with others, closely or as part of a group, while retaining control over your process and individually? Can you lead and follow at the same time? Can these seemingly opposite ideas be balanced, and if so, how?

No one can do everything, know everything and manage all the aspects of a business at the same time. This is why collaboration, delegation and partnerships exist. We need other people with different skills, experiences and perspectives to add to our entrepreneurial pursuits to be successful. No one has ever risen to great heights by themselves. BUT, many great ideas have been spoiled by too many cooks in the kitchen. The biggest and most successful (because they are disruptive) come from charismatic visionaries who control everything. Every great team has a leadership core, but other employees and fans, customers, family, friends and random strangers on social media all want to add their “2 cents” by providing advice, ideas, etc. So how do we balance all the “noise” with good ideas?
