#SaturdayMorningHustle taking advice from the great Don Draper on #MadMen when he tells the owner of scandalized Caldecott Farms dog food “Any agency that does not change the name is stealing your money. The product is good, it’s high-quality, dogs love it, but the name has been poisoned.” She does not agree of course. Draper goes on to tell her to find a new agency because she won't follow his professional advice – and he's right! ⠀ ⠀ This advice is very similar to a quote of mine in a recent @databoxHQ article "The Reasons Why Agencies Say ‘No’ to New Business"⠀ ⠀ Agencies want to do great work for their clients. Their livelihood depends on it. So when it doesn’t look like a project will succeed, it’s in their best interest to not accept the client. It’s not always an easy decision. But according to the agencies we heard from, it’s one worth making.⠀ ⠀ Kyle Golding, chief strategic idealist at @TheGoldingGroup, says that the most common reason his agency turns down potential clients is inflexible leadership in the client company. These projects can be doomed from the start, he says.⠀ ⠀ “If you’re not willing to make changes, then why are you hiring us?” added Golding, who looks for executives that are not only comfortable with his agency’s ideas but excited about them. https://databox.com/why-agencies-say-no ⠀ ⠀ Don Draper and I agree, anyone you hire (or hires you) has to be a "fit" in style, approach and willingness to do what works, not what's easy or what the client wants to hear. That's just stealing your money. Sometimes it doesn't work out, and the professional relationship should end. ⠀ ⠀ #Audience #Client #Advice #Consulting #Business #Entrepreneur #Coach #Agency #Collaboration #Partnership #Success #WorkSmart #WorkHard #Relationship #EvenOnTheWeekend #BoomerSooner

Work Smart Then Work Hard For #SaturdayMorningHustle Success! There are two equally important aspects to creating success. #WorkSmart and then #WorkHard. You can't just do one or the other and expect to win.⠀ ⠀ #WorkSmart is the research, planning and documentation of how you will create your successful endeavor. This is your business plan, your strategy and financials. You must have these in order to create and capitalize on attention and conversion of your marketing efforts. This is a lot of work and can be intimidating for many. But, once done this information will make decision making easy and fast with the assurance you're on the right path. Very helpful when all you see is work and not enough rewards (yet). Be patient.⠀ ⠀ #WorkHard is the hustle and grind. You have to execute every single day. It's a marathon, consisting of hundreds of sprints. Stay focused and consistent. Work every aspect of your plan from the most basic item to the top-end. Put max effort into your #WorkSmart plan or it will fail. Start with a plan before #WorkHard to win! People Will Steal Your Ideas. Do It Anyways! #SaturdayMorningHustle⠀ ⠀ That's right, not everyone on the planet is ethical (or honest). Plenty of people you have never met (or might be very close to you) are willing to take other people's ideas and pass them off as their own. I'm not condoning it, I'm just telling you it can/will happen. But, you still need to innovate. Come up with new ideas, approaches, tactics and ways of doing things. Do not let the potential theft of your next great idea slow or stop you. Put yourself out there, and see who does it better. Focus on your audience and your success. Anyone looking for a shortcut will end up short in the end. Make them work hard to keep up with you. Stealing ideas and claiming credit is not sustainable. Go for it! Check out the podcast too. http://bit.ly/SMHustle⠀ ⠀ #SaturdayMorningHustle #BestOfLuck #GoodLuck #Hustle #Grind #WorkSmart and #WorkHard #Entrepreneur #Leadership #EvenOnTheWeekends #Marketing #Branding #Advertising #PR #PublicRelations #SocialMedia #Promotions #Profit #Win #Motivation #Business #SelfBrand #Career #Process #Motivate #OKCSmallBusiness #OKCEntrepreneur #StartUp #OKCStartUp

The most practical advice I can give you on the #SaturdayMorningHustle is this: Start every idea, project or promotion the same way you build a business. Begin with the best idea possible. Don't be an "us too" offering but really find something new or a new way to do it. Make sure that idea solves a problem for people. That makes it valuable, something people will pay you for. Set your idea apart, differentiate what it is, how it works, how you deliver it, etc…. ⠀ ⠀ Do all of this with your audience wants and needs in mind, not your wants (or ego). If you do that, you will have something people are willing to pay for, delivered the way they want. Last but not least, make sure it's profitable. That profit will pay back startup cost and keep you going when things are not working perfectly. If everything goes well, profit will make it possible to expand. Measure, adjust, do it all again – just better. #GoodLuck #Hustle #Grind #WorkSmart and #WorkHard #Entrepreneur #Leadership #EvenOnTheWeekends #Conversion #Measurement #Marketing #Advertising #PR #PublicRelations #Promotions #Profit #Win #Motivation #Business #SelfBrand #Career #Process #Inspire #Motivate #OKCSmallBusiness

Today on the #SaturdayMorningHustle, I translate the business marketing process into a simple format with tips everyone can use for your next event, non-profit organization or building your Personal Brand – artist, musician, #entrepreneurs, fitness, SM influencer, etc…. Goals, strategy, objectives, tactics, measurement and adjustment is the process (we discuss this fully on my business podcast The Golding Group #NeoMarketing on iTunes) which might seem like a lot of work. But, for an individual or smaller project this process can be simplified if you understand the basics. That's what I'm going to give you in 5 minutes this morning. What you do with it will be up to you. #GoodLuck #Hustle #Grind #WorkSmart and #WorkHard #Entrepreneur #Leadership #EvenOnTheWeekends #Conversion #Measurement #Marketing #Advertising #PR #PublicRelations #Promotions #Profit #Win #Motivation #Business #SelfBrand #Career #Process #Inspire #Motivate #Podcast #Video #OKCSmallBusiness
