#SaturdayMorningHustle The Accidental Entrepreneur – If I can do it, you can do it. Can you believe I have owned or operated my own business (of some sort) for over 30 years now? I didn't even know the word Entrepreneur when I started. Now, I'm a full-time #Entrepreneur helping others do the same. It's not for everyone, but everyone can benefit from adding an entrepreneurial mindset. ⠀ ⠀ @TheGoldingGroup is the latest in a long line of business ventures I have been involved in since my first when I was just 15 years old. To hear the full story, from the music business to marketing to business development, listen then make a comment with your own story.⠀ ⠀ Saturday Morning Hustle Flashback – I posted a social media video 3 years ago (swipe right) fully explained along with what makes an entrepreneur, why new businesses are important and what this means for non-entrepreneurs. Today, I'm expanding on that idea and going WAY deeper into the process, the unexpected events and what it all means. ⠀ ⠀ Hit me up on Anchor, Instagram, Twitter or here on YouTube with questions, comments and feedback. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the Saturday Morning Hustle. https://saturdaymorninghustle.com⠀ ⠀ Listen to the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast while your competition is still sleeping. Give yourself permission to take a break. That's right, the #SaturdayMorningHustle is good with the idea of taking a break (occasionally). Sometimes you can get more done after recharging your batteries. The only thing you can control is your effort and your attitude, but even that has its limits. You must always be striving to first #WorkSmart before you #WorkHard to maximize efficiency and impact. That can include taking a step back for 5 minutes, a half day or a long 3-day weekend to gain perspective, clear your head or just regain your strength. This isn't the normal operating procedure, but the random reset we all need from time-to-time. After all, Labor Day is a holiday (DAY OFF) to celebrate the work you do on a regular basis. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Continuing on the #SaturdayMorningHustle theme from last week: Success is a journey and not a destination and the path is full of unexpected deviations. Today on the podcast, I'm using my own long and winding journey from my first business (when was only 15) in the music industry to where I am now as the head of a strategic planning and business development consulting firm. The path between the two is not anything I had planned, but being adaptable and keeping myself moving in the right direction ultimately offered the potential for personal and business success. ⠀ ⠀ The key is learning how to balance "sticking with the plan" with knowing "when to get out" of a plan that just won't work BUT not too soon or making major changes too often. It's the ultimate balancing act.⠀ ⠀ Last week, I talked about Luguentz (Lu) Dort, starting shooting guard for the OKC Thunder NBA franchise. His story just might be your story (not really, but we can learn from his unconventional path to success).⠀ ⠀ Not sure what I mean? Let's talk about it.⠀ ⠀ It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Success is def. a journey and not a destination, but not an A – B trip. Why? I will tell you today on the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast. You can't get too set on an idea of success, because "the real world" will make changes to that picture. Don't believe me, just ask Luguentz (Lu) Dort, starting shooting guard for the OKC Thunder NBA franchise. His story just might be your story (not really, but we can learn from his unconventional path to success).⠀ ⠀ My own path to success has taken many, many unexpected turns over the last 35 years. 15 years in the music business, 20 years in marketing as a graphic designer, creative director, C-suite and business owner multiple times in multiple structures. Some successful, some not but all merge to my current place in my success journey.⠀ ⠀ Not sure what I mean? Let's talk about it. ⠀ It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Today I'm expanding of a #SaturdayMorningHustle social media post from 2017 about getting started, creating momentum and not being worried about being great when doing something for the first time. You didn't know how to ride a skateboard or bike the first time you tried. Learn through doing. It's the same for running a business or being an entrepreneur. There is no single way to be successful. It's all trial and error. Keep getting back on the board and trying again.⠀ ⠀ Swipe right to see the original video. #Longboarding at our 1219 Creative office. 😬 Sorry for the squeaky board trucks on the flashback clip. Let's talk about it. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle. Listen to the podcast every weekend while your competition is still sleeping. ⠀ ⠀ #GoodLuck #Business #Success comes from change. #Entrepreneur #WorkSmart then #WorkHard #Truth #EvenOnTheWeekend #CoffeeAndDonuts #Grind #Hustle #StartUpLife #NoExcuses #BusinessOwner #Leadership #Dedication #Commitment #Change #OnTheGrind https://saturdaymorninghustle.com

A few things every business needs, but CEOs just don't want to take the time to plan for….. a #SaturdayMorningHustle plan to prepare your business for the worse while staying focused on being the best. ⠀ ⠀ A few themes were a part of my week that I want to share with you today as something you can work on today (and tomorrow):⠀ 1. Crisis management and communication protocols⠀ 2. Succession planning⠀ 3. Reputation management⠀ ⠀ Why do these things go together? I'll tell you. First, no one wants to plan for bad things like a crisis, the loss of an important business leader or unflattering reviews BUT you need to. Just like insurance, you need to have protocols, action steps and decision making processes in place BEFORE YOU NEED THEM. Just like insurance, you hope you never need it, but when you do it's a major factor in continuing successfully. ⠀ ⠀ Listen to the podcast today, as I explain all three, why they are important and the steps you need to take this weekend to begin these processes. Too many C-Suite leaders use the excuse of "taking away from day-to-day operations to not future plan. So my answer is to do it on the weekend, Now you don't have an excuse. You can't expect your business to run its lifespan without hiccups (or major f@#$ups). Get ahead of those missteps now. ⠀ ⠀ Listen or subscribe to the Saturday Morning Hustle #Podcast on #iTunes http://bit.ly/SatMornHustle on #GooglePlay http://bit.ly/SMHGooglePlay on @anchor https://anchor.fm/kyle-golding and streaming on @Spotify http://bit.ly/SaturdayMorningHustle.⠀ ⠀ It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the Saturday Morning Hustle. It's a #SaturdayMorningHustle riddle for #Entrepreneurs – "How can saying NO as often as possible create the opportunity to say YES as often as possible? How does this equate to long-term success?"⠀ ⠀ Think about that for a minute, then listen to the podcast for the answer in detail and how you can use this idea in your business (and life) pursuits. I'm not going to give it away here. With the start of College Football this weekend, this is my reminder to enjoy what all your hard work brings to your life. What's the point of all that #Hustle and #Grind if you can't really take time away from your pursuits to do things that make you happy? After all, a happy hustler is a productive hustler. For Success, Build The Foundation FIRST! #SaturdayMorningHustle ⠀ ⠀ It's an old saying but it applies perfectly to start-ups, entrepreneurs and business owners: "Crawl before you walk". Seems simple, but too many people want overnight success and do not want to be patient. The process of creating a business structure for the "Great Idea" that could become a start-up or changing and existing business plan for a major pivot is not the sexy part of entrepreneurship. It's hard work. It's saying No more than Yes because the audience, the market, competition, cost and other realities won't allow for every crazy idea to be explored. It's finding what works best and do that. A lot of that. It's a whole lot of paperwork. It's being patient.⠀ ⠀ Why? Because that's crawling before you walk. Once you have a well-developed and vetted idea, you can build a brand to support the product/service. Then you can create the marketing strategy, the sales process, the distribution and delivery mechanisms. Now, you can start. Without all that, you will most likely not draw any attention at all and fail. If you draw attention but can't actually conduct a transaction, you fail. Even if you get attention and conduct the first transactions, can you sustain that? Once you can sustain your business, you have something that can be successful and create real wealth and opportunities for you, your family and friends.⠀ ⠀ That's the ultimate goal. Take the time to give yourself the best opportunity to reach it.⠀ ⠀ Bonus Advice: If you’re working a product or business just to get rich, stop now and go get a J-O-B somewhere else. Have passion and energy or #GTFO.⠀ ⠀ Subscribe to the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast on #iTunes http://bit.ly/SatMornHustle on Google Play http://bit.ly/SMHGooglePlay on Anchor https://anchor.fm/kyle-golding and streaming on Spotify http://bit.ly/SaturdayMorningHustle ⠀ The Saturday Morning Hustle t-shirts are now available for everyone at http://bit.ly/SMHshirt and https://saturdaymorninghustle.com⠀ ⠀ #Grind #Hustle #SaturdayThoughts #WorkSmart #WorkHard #RiseAndGrind #Process #EntrepreneurAF #EvenOnTheWeekend #SaturdayMotivation #StartUp #Success #Strategy #Business #Win

#SaturdayMorningHustle advice for handling interruption to your schedule, system or process (your comfort zone). After a week of travel (for business) I'm way outside my normal routine. Even though I'm not as structured as many people, I do like having an idea of what needs to be done, in what order, how long something should take, etc…. ⠀ ⠀ But the key to being successful is the ability to handle situations that take you out of your comfort zone. That's often where the best work occurs. Don't be afraid of getting out of your routine, embrace it. Make a potential weakness a strength.⠀ ⠀ My question for you is, are you super structured and organized or are you fluid and flexible in your process? Let's talk about it. How do you prefer to work, and how do you get back on track if you are pushed out of that routine (or lack of a routine)?⠀ ⠀ Subscribe to the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast on #iTunes http://bit.ly/SatMornHustle on Google Play http://bit.ly/SMHGooglePlay on Anchor https://anchor.fm/kyle-golding and streaming on Spotify.⠀ ⠀ Be like @vickker and get your Saturday Morning Hustle t-shirt.
