What Do Community Events & Q4 2020 Have In Common? #SaturdayMorningHustle Flashback 3 and 4 years ago this week. Still a GREAT idea and maybe more important in 2020 than it was in 2017/16. . . . . . (Swipe 1) Here's a #SaturdayMorningHustle idea for you. Replace one of your "traditional" marketing buys with a creative community collaboration event to benefit a local nonprofit, school or cause. Bring together as many local businesses as needed. The key is not selling anything or asking for anything for your business. Just do good in your community. The positive attention will benefit your business (and all involved) better than an ad or commercial. Stay connected to the nonprofit, creating additional attention for them and you. Good luck! (Swipe 2) Flashback 4 years ago. Get some bonus time in while your competitors sleep. #GoodLuck #MakeYourOwnSuccess #Entrepreneur #WorkSmart then #WorkHard #Business #Success #Truth #EvenOnTheWeekend #CoffeeAndDonuts #Grind #Hustle #StartUpLife #NoExcuses #BusinessOwner #Leadership #Dedication #Commitment The Universe doesn't owe you anything, so #GetToWork and stop complaining. – 2016 advice that’s still highly valid in 2020. The key to success: Change Management. #SaturdayMorningHustle Flashback 3 years ago this week + 2020 #COVID19 updated strategy. ⠀ ⠀ The key to business success is how you handle change. Winning comes from making small movements, not large pivots or failure to change at all. Business change can come from losing or gaining a client, losing your best employee or new competitor entering your market. Do not overreact! Stick to your business plan, strategy and marketing tactics as long as you can until it's evident that you must make a change. The market will tell you when it's time for adjustments. ⠀ ⠀ When you do make changes, do it concisely and decisively. Winning at business means being able to handle change better than the other people in your space. Adapt and adjust. You can't be the "flavor of the week" and try something new all the time, but you also can't stick to "this is how we've always done it" and never make adjustments. Choose a happy medium between the two concepts. ⠀ . . . . For Success, Build The Foundation FIRST! #SaturdayMorningHustle ⠀ ⠀ It's an old saying but it applies perfectly to start-ups, entrepreneurs and business owners: "Crawl before you walk". Seems simple, but too many people want overnight success and do not want to be patient. The process of creating a business structure for the "Great Idea" that could become a start-up or changing and existing business plan for a major pivot is not the sexy part of entrepreneurship. It's hard work. It's saying No more than Yes because the audience, the market, competition, cost and other realities won't allow for every crazy idea to be explored. It's finding what works best and do that. A lot of that. It's a whole lot of paperwork. It's being patient.⠀ ⠀ Why? Because that's crawling before you walk. Once you have a well-developed and vetted idea, you can build a brand to support the product/service. Then you can create the marketing strategy, the sales process, the distribution and delivery mechanisms. Now, you can start. Without all that, you will most likely not draw any attention at all and fail. If you draw attention but can't actually conduct a transaction, you fail. Even if you get attention and conduct the first transactions, can you sustain that? Once you can sustain your business, you have something that can be successful and create real wealth and opportunities for you, your family and friends.⠀ ⠀ That's the ultimate goal. Take the time to give yourself the best opportunity to reach it.⠀ ⠀ Bonus Advice: If you’re working a product or business just to get rich, stop now and go get a J-O-B somewhere else. Have passion and energy or #GTFO.⠀ ⠀ Subscribe to the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast on #iTunes http://bit.ly/SatMornHustle on Google Play http://bit.ly/SMHGooglePlay on Anchor https://anchor.fm/kyle-golding and streaming on Spotify http://bit.ly/SaturdayMorningHustle ⠀ The Saturday Morning Hustle t-shirts are now available for everyone at http://bit.ly/SMHshirt and https://saturdaymorninghustle.com⠀ ⠀ #Grind #Hustle #SaturdayThoughts #WorkSmart #WorkHard #RiseAndGrind #Process #EntrepreneurAF #EvenOnTheWeekend #SaturdayMotivation #StartUp #Success #Strategy #Business #Win

No, we're not on a new diet for the #SaturdayMorningHustle but instead reminding you (while reminding myself) that we all need to take the advice and guidance we give to others as direction for ourselves. There's nothing like a less-than-happy conversation with a client to make you feel really stupid for expecting discipline and structure from them (of your making or theirs) but not yourself as well. Trust me, I'm speaking from very recent experience. This is called "eating your own dog food" or "taking your own medicine" or "walking it like you talk it" – you get the message, right? Too many people in business and other pursuits fear rules or structure because they don't want to be constrained or held back by a business plan or marketing strategy. Of course, this is misguided. The plan create structure with room to adapt so you can be creative or make different decisions on the fly when adaptation is needed. That's how it's (supposed to be) designed to work best. Everyone needs to be working towards the same goals, via different objectives and tactics while remembering the big picture. Anything "held back" by a good plan probably deserves to be skipped. So, what is one way (or more) you can do more of what you say or eat your own dog food better after this gentle reminder? How will you be better at following the rules you set in order to reach success in a better way? Best of luck! See you next week. It's an exciting #SaturdayMorningHustle weekend around here! Startup OKC – A Weekend-Long Startup Competition is happening in our building @Project3810. I love this stuff! Shoutout to @StartupGrindOKC for making it happen.⠀ ⠀ Young, up-and-coming entrepreneurs all get in a room to meet, discuss potential business ideas and form teams to develop the best ideas and pitch to a panel of experts for constructive criticism. It's the process of starting a business, just shrunk into a weekend and executed in a safe space for learning and developing as a professional.⠀ ⠀ If you're not interested in the process, feedback, change and working within realistic expectations than you have no business calling yourself an entrepreneur. An open mind, adaptability and strategic (not just tactical) thinking are the keys to starting and managing a successful business. ⠀ ⠀ So, what is Startup OKC? Startup OKC is a 3-day event during which teams of participants pitch ideas for new startups. They then form teams around the ideas presented, and work the entire weekend to build an MVP (minimum viable product), identify customers, refine MVP, market research, customer validation, refine MVP, validate, business model & rollout strategy, pitch prep & finally on Sunday evening. Pitch!⠀ ⠀ Throughout the weekend participants network with other teams and individuals at Startup OKC. Mentors will be in and out throughout the weekend. The mentors are some of the best and innovative minds from around Oklahoma City.⠀ ⠀ Good luck to everyone participating in Startup OKC and all of you out there in the universe. If you need some advice from a mentor, hit me below or at TheGoldingGroup.com.⠀ ⠀ See you next week. It's Saturday, I'm in the office so it must be the #SaturdayMorningHustle.⠀ ⠀ #Hustle #Grind #EvenOnTheWeekend #StartUp #Process #Entrepreneur #Business #Development #Pitch #Feedback #ConstructiveCriticism #Adapt #Pivot #Process #Success #WorkSmart then #WorkHard
